Selecting A Church

One of the most important aspects of a Christian's life is fellowship.  A good church with solid doctrine and people you can relate with will immensely benefit your walk with God.  Here are a few things that you should look for in a church:

  • Doctrine: This is the first thing you should consider when evaluating churches.  The worst thing that can happen is going to a church that is misleading.  Every Christian Church should believe the following:
  • A church should have people you relate with.  If you are college aged, find a church with other college aged people.  If you are single, find a church with a strong singles program.  If you have kids, find a church that is well suited for both you and your kids.  A church exists for your fellowship with others, so if you don't have anything in common with others in the church, its awful hard to fellowship.
  • Decide and Commit.  Visit several churches to find one that you like, and then stick with it. I think there are a lot of "Church Hoppers" today that change churches often.  It is important for your walk with God to develop strong relationships with others in the church which can only come about after going to a church for a long time.
